Week 9 - Last week thoughts

It's crazy how quickly the 9 weeks have passed at my internship at the digital summer clinic. I am set to graduate this week, so I am excited to see the friends I've made at the internship, along with my company, attending the graduation. This 9-week internship has helped me learn so much for the future of my career, not only on the technical side but also on the networking side. Being able to communicate your ideas clearly to an audience, network, and delve into new skills has allowed me to progress and learn so much.

With the weekly cohort meetings, we were given advice on how to address challenges we face, actions to take, and how to grow our network. We were advised to update our LinkedIn, blog about our experiences, and reach out to our network. The experience taught me a lot about the importance of reaching out to people, whether it was a simple message or a coffee chat. Many people are willing to help out if you ask! Furthermore, displaying our progress and impact helped me feel more accomplished and presented the work that I have done.

Besides the cohort meetings, there were also the All-Hands meetings, which were definitely my favorite. I got to connect with the other interns and learn about their companies. There were also panels each week covering different relevant topics such as AI, Resume Building, and much more. It was so interesting to hear different inputs from different entrepreneurs and those at tech companies. It offered insight on the work they do, how they approach difficulties, and their journey to their career. The ability to ask these questions directly was really insightful and provided such valuable information that I will take with me far into my career.

Finally, my experience at Roadsr was both challenging and rewarding. It was definitely nerve-racking at the start as I adjusted to the fast-paced environment and real-world expectations, but as things picked up, I gained confidence and learned a great deal. I developed a range of technical skills, including working with modern web technologies, integrating backend services, and building scalable user interfaces. Beyond the technical growth, I also learned how to collaborate in a startup setting. Overall, the internship pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me practical experience that I’ll carry forward in future roles.
